Please use this form to apply to become a member of the Society. Membership entitles you to receive the Newsletter, attend meetings and have your opinions heard.

Annual Subscription for 20011/12:

(add £ 3.00 supplement for postal delivery of newsletters if outside CT5). Please notify the Society if you change your name or your postal or email address.

Contact by email is useful if we need to urgently find out member’s opinions on a topic.
 
Please confirm on the form that you wish us to treat your payments as Gift Aid donations if you pay tax*. This confirmation enables the Society to claim 28 pence in the pound back from the Inland Revenue because your contribution assists the Society in carrying out its objectives as approved by the Charities Commission.

*Notes. In order to make the declaration, you (or one of you) must pay income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax refund that the Society reclaims from the Inland Revenue: currently about £2.25. Tax paid includes tax deducted at source from salary, pension, dividends or interest on deposits and not subsequently re-claimed. You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying the Society. If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief. The postal supplement cannot be claimed as Gift Aid relief in your Self- Assessment tax return.
